Background and aims
The purpose of this presentation is to demonstrate that EMDR could be used to cure symptoms in patients with tic disorders. Tic disorders comprise four diagnostic categories, including Tourette syndrome, for which there is no cure but only treatment for symptom management.

Methods
Clinical cases and research show that trauma-related tics can be cured with EMDR.
Some clinical cases concurrently presenting traumatic events and tic disorders will be illustrated, in particular the case of a young patient diagnosed with Tourette syndrome.

Results
After EMDR treatment, using the standard protocol, the cases had a complete recovery. Dysfunctions of the basal ganglia are believed to be involved in the neurobiology of tics; research findings have revealed a decrease in the basal ganglia activity post EMDR treatment.

Conclusions
Analysing tic disorders from a psychotraumatology point of view and intervening with EMDR can help re-elaborate the trauma at the basis of the condition and ensure its emotional integration and self-regulation.

Abstract topic
It may be reductive and lead to a chronicisation of the disorder to consider only the diagnosis without taking the trauma into account.

3 Learning objectives
avoiding relying solely on descriptive diagnostic categories, focussing on an accurate anamnesis covering possible traumatic events in order to find a targeted treatment.
assessing the tic as a possible symptom of a trauma and not as a disorder in itself.
discerning trauma-focused treatment might lead to the complete remission of symptoms.

Background and aims
The Safety Platform protocol (EMDR-SP), proposed as a Phase 2 EMDR strategy for complex trauma [1-4], is a set of procedures with the EMDR protocol, using exercises for vagal system and inferences about transgenerational stress and non-inclusion associated with prejudice, gender, and attachment, as processing targets before the list of traumas. The objective is to present it, with results of studies in DV.

Methods
Presentation of the protocol and results of individual application, for victims of DV, and group for aggressors.

Results
Ongoing studies show repercussions on heart rate variability, with clinical relevance, under stress conditions and emotional regulation. With aggressors, in 8 months of post-study follow-up there was no recurrence.

Conclusions
Expand sampling.

Background
•Self-regulation and affective processing difficulties, possible fragile neuropsychic construct.
•SP protocol as an EMDR Phase 2 strategy to restructure neuropsychic foundations in complex trauma.
•EMDR-SPg for DV actors, legally removed from the family as protective measure.
Method
•Samples allocated in the public court were treated individually (victims) and in groups (aggressors).
•All subjects underwent pre-post evaluation.
•Follow-up
Research Questions
•Can EMDR-SP be bearable for subjects accused of aggressive behavior?
•Can the application of the EMDR-SP protocol of DV actors help to decrease the recurrence of aggression complaints?

3 Learning objectives
Identify concepts, resources and procedures for affective regulation and readiness for EMDR treatment.
To assess how EMDR-SP can contribute to EMDR treatment, for individuals or groups.
Identify public agencies as neutral study spaces ininclusion, measurement and dissemination of the EMDR.
